One person has been arrested and two others are dead after an accident in Colorado. The police believe that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, which could turn the tragic crash into a drunk driving accident.

The wreck was a single-car accident, and the driver actually survived. Reports indicate that he had his seat belt on when the car left the roadway and slammed into a tree. Two passengers in the vehicle died from their injuries.

The car was a small convertible, a Mini Cooper. Pictures show the front end of the little vehicle smashed up against a tree trunk, the front hood bent up into the air and back toward the window, one of the doors hanging open.

The accident took place near the intersection where Roller Coaster Road and Hodgen Road come together. The police say that it happened about 15 minutes after one in the morning.

Officers also said that they think that speed was a factor in the crash. It appears that the vehicle was breaking the speed limit as it headed east, and then the driver went right through a stop sign. After that, the car left the pavement, getting slightly airborne, and that caused it to go out of control. It sailed off of the road and slammed into the tree on the other side. The two who were killed were reportedly still in high school.

Anyone who has been involved in an accident that may be related to alcohol use, especially when someone has died as a result, must know what legal options he or she has.
