A Denver judge sentenced a 56-year-old man to almost five years in prison to sex crimes involving child pornography. The man’s sentence is 57 months. He will also be on supervised release for ten years after serving that sentence.
The man received more than 100 videos depicting child pornography in the mail. An inspector with the U.S. Post Office contacted the police department in Colorado Springs after figuring out that someone had spent more than $4,000 to purchase these videos between November 2008 and April 2011. The man was later identified as the one who had purchased and received the videos.
According to the Department of Justice, a subsequent search of the man’s home yielded explicit images of boys who were underage on his computer, as well as DVDs of child pornography. The DVDs were reportedly mailed from New York.
The DOJ said the man belonged to the “North American Man-Boy Love Association.” After the man completes his sentence, he will be required to register with the state as a sex offender.
