When an individual is arrested, law enforcement officials sometimes charge them with multiple crimes. Any criminal defense must always address the applicable laws in order to defend an individual against multiple allegations. On occasion, the criminal charges cover a number of allegations that may be different and seemingly unrelated to one another.
In a recent case, a man from Colorado Springs was pulled over by police in a routine traffic stop. Police allegedly identified the man as a routine traffic offender. However, police also allege to have found forged documents and other private documents in the man’s possession. Police claim to have found financial account statements, social security cards, and different forms of identification including driver’s licenses. Police further allege to have found inside the man’s vehicle a cluster mailbox, which had allegedly been stolen.
Police arrested the man on multiple charges. Those charges primarily included identity theft. Should the man be convicted of the charges he could face very harsh punishments; therefore, an aggressive criminal defense will be necessary to get as many charges dropped as possible, if not all of them.
Colorado residents who are accused of crimes will not suffer any kind of punishment if they can get their charges dropped and achieve a verdict of not guilty. Numerous criminal defense strategies can be employed on behalf of an individual accused of a crime. In other proceedings, reduced punishments might be achieved or jail time avoided through a spirited criminal defense focused on obtaining the best possible result.
